Jungle Bus Staff

Ms. Leigh

Ms. Leigh was a competitive gymnast for 9 years & has coached gymnastics for the past 38 years from beginner to national competitive level. Ms. Leigh created the Jungle Bus in 1994. She has a BA degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Business. She is also Safety Certified and Kinder Accredited through USA Gymnastics. Ms. Leigh also regularly keeps up with her CPR and First Aid certification through the American Heart Association.

Gymnastics has always been a passion of Ms. Leigh's. She loves that she can combine her passion of gymnastics with her passion to teach children. Teaching a child to feel good about themselves and to be excited about being active is her most favorite part of teaching on the Jungle Bus, and she is currently teaching all of our Jungle Bus classes. And what a great job it is - getting lots of smiling faces & hugs everyday when you come to work.

Ms. Leigh has two beautiful children; both have been doing gymnastics since they could walk. Her daughter is now in middle school and a competitive dancer. Her son is a competitive soccer player and also a very active flag football player.

Ms. Alicia

Ms. Alicia was born in New Jersey in 1987 and began gymnastics at the age of 3, which led to her lifetime love affair with teaching and performing. She loved the competition and artistic aspects of gymnastics so much that she remained in the sport until her senior year of high school. Gymnastics taught her discipline, teamwork, and how to perform under pressure. By this time, gymnastics had also given her a great understanding of body movement and mechanics, proper flexibility, and strength training exercises, and also what it takes to be an encouraging and effective teacher.

Ms. Alicia has taught gymnastics to children ages 2-14 from the end of high school until she began classes at USF. She is very excited to be able to work with children again and share her passion for gymnastics with future generations with the Jungle Bus team.

Ms. Alicia is now a mom to the sweetest little girl and can't wait for her to be old enough to be a part of the Jungle Bus program.

Ms. Kristen

Ms. Kristen has 25 years of gymnastics experience and loved teaching gymnastics for 11 years. She grew up in Texas, raised by a family who all love gymnastics, then moved with her family to Hawaii and continued coaching. When Ms. Kristen's family moved to Florida, she began teaching for Jungle Bus.

Ms. Kristen now works in our office remotely from Texas and really misses seeing all the children so excited for Jungle Bus!

She has two amazing little boys. Her oldest, Landon, is in preschool in Texas and has been doing gymnastics since his second birthday. He's also been able to attend Jungle Bus a few times when they've been able to travel to Florida. Her youngest, Lincoln, is still too little for gymnastics, but they plan to put him in gymnastics as soon as possible!
